Crochet Projects for Beginners

What are the best crochet projects for beginners?

So, you just started crocheting? Or maybe you want to, but don’t know where to begin. You’ve searched youtube, instagram, and pinterest to try to figure out where you should begin. You may have even picked out a yarn that you quickly discovered that you don’t like. Sound familiar?

My very first crochet project was a scarf, and it took me FOREVER to make. Ok, not forever, but a really long time.

Other than a scarf, I somewhat struggled to find easy projects to practice with. It took me a while to find them. After searching far and wide, just kidding! After searching internet, I was able to find some great projects to practice with.

From one former beginner to another, let me help you out.

Here’s a list of some of the best beginner projects to start out with:

  • Scarf
  • Washcloth
  • Hat
  • Coaster

My favorite crocheters for these kind of projects are Melanie K Ham and Bag O Day Crochet. They are really good at teaching crochet, stitch by stitch. Check out their video tutorials! They’re life savers, trust me.

Once you pick a project, stick with it and don’t give up. Many times, I got frustrated and just wanted to quit, but just as Dory says, just keep swimming.

Don’t give up! Don’t quit. Before you know it, you’ll be on to bigger projects.

Happy Crocheting!
